COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah senior designated player Brittany Parker was named a Mountain West Conference Softball Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
Parker helped Utah go 3-0 during the week and the Utes are currently tied for first place in the MWC standings at 5-1.
Parker, a native of Murray, Utah, led Utah to three home wins against Colorado State and New Mexico. For the week, Parker was a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate with three home runs, eight RBI and four runs scored.
Against Colorado State on Thursday, Parker stepped up for a pinch-hit grand slam in the first frame of the 15-4 six-inning victory. Then on Saturday, Parker was 3-for-3 with four RBI and two home runs in the Utes' 12-9 win over New Mexico.
Parker shared the honor with BYU third baseman Caschjen Atagi.
