-Senior guard Josh Watkins led the Utes with 14 points on 6-of-15 from the field. He also added five rebounds, a team-high five assists and a block. Watkins has scored double digits in 14 straight games going back to last year and has been Utah's leading scorer in seven of the eight games he has played this year.
-Junior wing Cedric Martin scored 10 points on 2-of-6 from the field, both 3-pointers, and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. It was his third game of the year in double digits.
-Junior forward Dijon Farr posted a career-high seven rebounds to lead the Utes. He also tied his career highs of two steals and one blocked shot.
-Farr (32 minutes), junior wing Cedric Martin (35) and redshirt sophomore forward Javon Dawson (19) all posted career high minutes played.
-Utah has improved its turnovers over the last two games. On the heels of Wednesday's season-low seven turnovers, the Utes committed 10 turnovers against BYU, still nearly five turnovers better than their season average of 14.8 per game coming in.
-Utah posted its best defensive effort of the season, holding BYU to just 38.8% from the floor (19-of-49), a season-low for made field goals by any Ute opponent and the lowest field goal percentage by an NCAA Div. I opponent. However, Utah shot a season-low of its own at 26.8% (14-of-52) from the field, including 3-of-17 from 3-point range.
-BYU missed its first six shots of the game, but Utah could only make it a 5-1 lead during that time. The Utes suffered a stretch of more than 12 minutes without a made field goal, which spanned from the 10:32 mark of the first half to the 18:08 mark of the second half.
