Bio
Dawson transferred to Utah from Gulf Coast Community College after sitting out the 2010-11 season with a knee injury. He is eligible to play immediately and has three years of eligibility remaining.
Prior to Utah
First-team All-Panhandle Conference and All-Freshman Team selection ... appeared in 29 games, making 21 starts for Gulf Coast CC ... averaged 8.1 points per game, fourth-best on the team, and led the squad in rebounding at 7.3 boards per contest ... shot 44% from the floor (94-214).
High School
Graduated from Crisp County High School in 2009 ... was a McDonald's All-American nominee ... two-time first-team all-state selection ... also highly recruited in football, playing quarterback, wide receiver and tight end.

Javon Dawson is the son of Debra Dawson and was raised by his grandmother Mozie Chambliss ... born Sept. 10, 1990 ... has a two-year old son, Javon Dawson, Jr., who he calls his biggest motivation ... has two younger siblings, Dementria (12) and Kanney (9) ... majoring in mass communication.
