Shimada then hit a first-pitch single to left field to drive in Myers. After Michael Beltran got a bunt single, Nick Kuroczko connected on a single back to the pitcher to plate Hussey for Utah's fourth run of the game.
With two outs in Gonzaga's bottom half of the fourth frame, Gonzaga got on the scoreboard again when Wells hit a single to center field then Heid lined an RBI triple down the right-field line to bring the Bulldogs within two runs.
