Utes Battle Past Wyoming, 64-57

SALT LAKE CITY - Morgan Warburton scored 19 second-half points as part of a career-high 28-point effort to lead Utah past Wyoming, 64-57.
With the score tied, 28-28, at halftime, the two teams continued to fight into the second half. Both teams went scoreless through the first three and a half minutes of the second half. The game knotted at 31-31, Utah (16-6, 9-0 MWC) went on a 10-2 run with five points each from Kalee Whipple and Warburton to give the Utes an eight-point, 41-33, lead.
Wyoming (11-11, 3-6 MWC) could only come within five points the remainder of the game.
Warburton and Whipple teamed up to score 50 points of Utah's 64 for the game, with Whipple coming away with 22. Halie Sawyer led Utah with eight rebounds while Katie King and Warburton each had seven.
Although Utah jumped out to an eight-point lead early in the game, 12-4 with 13:15 left in the first half, Wyoming quickly caught back up to make it a close game that saw the lead change nine times with five ties in the half. The Utes shot 44-percent in the half with 12 points from Whipple.
The Utes wore pink warm-up shirts and pink shoelaces for breast cancer awareness.
Utah goes on the road this week to face San Diego State on Wednesday, Feb. 11. The Aztecs are second in the MWC with a 7-2 record.
