SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah volleyball team will conclude its regular season home slate by hosting Wyoming Saturday at 1 p.m. Seniors Chelsey Sandberg (West Jordan, Utah) and Cinthia Silva (San Paulo, Brazil) will be honored in a pre-match ceremony before their last regular-season home match.
A live webcast with Dan Clayton's play-by-play call as well as live stats will be available at utahutes.com.
Utah has lost three in a row and is 15-10 overall. The Utes stand fourth in the MWC with an 8-5 conference record and are even in the loss column with New Mexico.
Wyoming has split its last four matches and is 12-17 overall this season. The Cowgirls occupy eighth place in the MWC with a 2-12 conference mark after taking a 3-0 loss to BYU Thursday in Provo.
Last Time Out: Two Utes posted double-doubles but Utah fell 3-1 (20-25, 21-25, 25-19, 23-25) to Colorado State Thursday at Crimson Court. The Utes earned a 12-10 edge in team blocks as well as a slight 4-3 advantage in service aces. But Utah was only able to hit .203 in the match, compared to a .234 mark for CSU. Despite the loss, Utah has still won 13 of its last 15 conference matches at Crimson Court.
Saluting Sandberg: Sandberg is ninth in school history with 308 block assists and is five away from taking sole possession of eighth place. She is also ninth in the Utah record book with 328 total blocks. She is currently fifth in the MWC with 0.29 service aces per set and eighth in the MWC with a .297 hitting percentage.
Sandberg has five double-digit-kill performances in her career and hit career-high 14 kills in consecutive matches: Weber State (10/6/09) and TCU (10/8/09). She served a career-high six service aces against Cal Poly (9/1/09) and had a season-high .778 hitting percentage against Arizona State (8/28/09). She was also named to All-Tournament teams at the Utah Classic and La Quinta Inn & Suites Invitational.
Sandberg stepped into leadership role during spring practice as one of the team's tri-captains. She showed tremendous determination and dedication to the team after playing through ankle injury in the last four matches of 2008 season. She finished third on the team in 2008 and seventh in the MWC with 1.14 blocks per set and averaged 1.35 kills per set, which ranked sixth on the squad. The West Jordan, Utah native was the most improved player on the team in 2006 and 2007 and earned the 2008 Coaches Award.
Saluting Silva: Silva hit a career-high 16 kills against Wyoming (10/15/09) and tied personal best with six blocks. She initially established a career high of six blocks against BYU (9/25/09) and also added 14 kills
Silva owns nine career double-doubles with five coming in 2009 and has led or tied for team lead in kills four times and digs once this season. She had 12 kills and 12 digs at Utah St. (9/15/09) and 12 digs and 11 kills against New Mexico (10/10/09).
Silva had a career-high 17 digs against TCU (10/8/09) with 12 kills for fourth double-double of season. She has at least 10 digs in eight matches this season, 17 times in her career. The San Paulo, Brazil native hit a season-high .389 against Arizona State (8/28/09). Silva served a career-high two aces six times

Silva was selected to the 30th annual Pacific Bankers' Classic All-Tournament team in 2008. She hit for a career-high .625 hitting percentage with six kills on eight attempts and a single error this season against Air Force that same year.
