UNM pitcher Bobby LaFromboise:
"I think I did pretty well, once we got three runs in the first, I just let my defense go to work."
On tomorrow's game: "I think we are very confident. We are hitting the ball well right now and I feel like anyone who pitches for us will do a good job."
UNM head coach Ray Birmingham:
"I teach hitting to situations. When you get a sinker ball pitcher, when you get a left hander this is what you do, and when the wind is coming in, this is what you do. Hitting, pitching and making adjustments are what baseball is. Learning how to make adjustments is key."
"You can't hit a fly ball here and have it go out. If you hit a high fly here it's an out and most balls have a small chance of getting out unless you step on it. This yard is not a hitter's park."
Utah Head Coach Bill Kinneberg:
"The things we did last night to make us successful, we didn't do today. We didn't play very good defense at times, we didn't get any clutch hits, and we didn't execute at times."
Utah SS Michael Beltran:
"The thing was, we didn't have key hits in situations. We had guys on base and we struggled at the plate. We could get base runners but we just couldn't execute."
"We just have to forget about this game and stick to our plan. We want to be here for the whole week."
