LAS VEGAS - The University of Utah softball team (37-19 overall) punched its ticket to the Mountain West Conference championship game when it dispensed of UNLV (26-37) here in the semifinals this afternoon, 1-0.
The game will be on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. (PDT). It will be televised live on CSTV. Live audio and video feeds are also available at the MWC's Web site.
Utah will face either Brigham Young or San Diego State in the single-elimination championship game. Those two will face off tonight at 7 p.m. and again at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, should BYU win.

The lone score of the game came in the first when Devina Quintero hit a sac fly to left field. It allowed Wong to tag from third, plating the only run of the game. It was an unearned run as Wong reached on an error on the shortstop.
UNLV threatened with two on and two out in the sixth. The Rebels had their top hiter, Crisp, at the plate but Cannon got her to fly out to center field.
Crisp took the loss for UNLV.
