SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah head baseball coach Bill Kinneberg has added one more student-athlete to the list of commitments from the early signing period. Michael Beltran (Lakewood, Calif.) signed a national letter-of-intent Wednesday and will join the Ute program in 2007-08.
Beltran brings Utah's number of commitments for the 2007-08 class to seven. The Utes announced the signing of six other student-athletes on Tuesday.
"You add Michael to the other six we've signed and he mixes right in," Kinneberg said.

Honors/Statistics: Second-team All-Serra League as a junior in 2006 ... Chosen as a player to watch by the Orange County Register prior to sophomore season in 2005 ... Took part in 2006 California Showcase.
Coach Kinneberg Says: "Michael is a really gifted defensive player and he has tremendous speed. He's a good athlete and we're very excited to have a player of his caliber joining our program."
