At The Plate
The Utes will face UNLV in the second game of the Mountain West Conference Tournament on Thursday, May 13 beginning at 11:30 a.m. The tourney is being held in Fort Collins, Colo., at Ram Field on the campus of Colorado State.

Colorado State wrapped up the regular season crown after posting a 16-4 league record. The Rams are the defending tournament champions and are hosting the tournament this year.

The Last Time Out
The Utes finished their last road trip with a 1-3 record. Utah opened the weekend with a 2-1 victory over San Diego State on Friday. The Aztecs evened things by grabbing game two 2-0. On Saturday, Utah was swept by UNLV (4-3, 7-6).
Quoting Head Coach Mona Stevens
"Our weekend will really depend on if we can put things together. We have to bring our offense and defense, along with our pitching to come and play at the same time.
"I really believe there are four teams that could walk away with the championship this weekend. It will be interesting to see who plays well."
Repeat Offenders
Glennis Donnelly, Devina Quintero and Melissa Stahnke are the only Utes to have double-digit multiple hit games with 19, 16 and 15, respectively. Donnelly also has 14 multiple RBI games, while Quintero has 12 multiple RBI outings. Bryanne Durrence has a four-game hitting streak, while Lynsey Wall has knocked a hit in her last three outings.
Long Ball Fever
The Utes broke the school record for dingers in a season, when Glennis Donnelly knocked the 61st on Saturday against UNLV. The 61 homers leads the league.
Conference Versus Non-Conference
The Utes are batting .276 in league games, versus .256 overall. The Ute hurlers have a team ERA of 4.81 in league games, compared to a 4.12 ERA overall.
Scouting UNLV
The Rebels (25-34, 7-13 MWC) and Utes split their doubleheader in Salt Lake City earlier this season, while UNLV swept the series in Las Vegas last weekend.
Bridget Byrne pilots the Rebels' plate attack with a .379 batting average. Kacey Ellis has driven in a team-high 29 runs, while Lisa Sampson has knocked in 24 runs. Jacqueline Kerrigan is 19-17 on the season with a 1.94 ERA. UNLV has a combined team ERA of 3.27.
Key Matchup Notes
As a team, UNLV has nine home runs compared to Utah's 61. In fact, two of Utah's batters have more home runs than the Rebels, while two are tied with UNLV with nine. The Rebels have scored 182 runs in 59 games, versus the Utes 207 runs in 51 games. But despite out scoring and out pounding the Rebels, UNLV has a higher team average of .265 against Utah's .256.
