The University of Utah baseball team scored twice in their half of the ninth inning, then shut down Pacific in their half to get an 11-9 win, and a split in the series. It was the second straight win for the Utes.
Utah overcame five errors thanks to the bat of Nate Weese. Weese finihsed the day 3-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI. His first homer came in the first, a two-run shot that gave the Utes a 2-0 lead. His second came in the Utes 6-run seventh inning, two batters after a Donnie Saba homer.
The biggest blow came in the ninth when Sam Swenson hit a two-run home run off Tiger pitcher Ryan Jurvakainen. Swenson finished the day with just the one hit. In the four game series he was 8-for-15 with six runs scored, four RBI, two doubles, and two home runs.
