TUCSON, ARIZ. -
The Arizona Wildcats scored three runs in the seventh inning to beat the Utah Utes 5-4. Utah (8-8) led 4-2, but couldn't shut down the Wildcats (13-8) in that seventh inning. Utah outhit Arizona 10-8 but left 10 men on base.
Donnie Saba led the Utes with his 2-for-3 night. He hit his third home run of the season and had two RBI. His fifth inning homer extended his hitting streak to 11 games. Nate Weese added three hits, including his fourth double of the year. Sam Swenson also contributed his team leading sixth homer.
Brett Lindsey (2-1) went 4.1 innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits. He had two strike outs and three walks. Jon Lewis (0-2) suffered his second loss of the season after allowing three earned runs in just one-third of an inning. Mitch Maio pitched perfect baseball over the final 1.2 innings.
Arizona won the three-game series from the Utes 2-1 with their other win coming by a count of 8-7 on Friday. Utah won Saturday 6-4. Next up for the Utes is a three-game series in Sacramento, Calif. Against Sacramento State on March 2-4.
