Utah Softball Hires Assistant Coach

Salt Lake City - Utah head softball coach Mona Stevens recently hired Robert Wagner as her first assistant. Wagner comes to the U. with a long background in the softball arena. Since 1998, Wagner was a volunteer softball coach at Central Arizona College. He was also an assistant baseball coach at Central Arizona in 1996 and 1997. Prior to his appointment at the U., Wagner was an Assistant Athletic Director and Head of Residence Life at Central Arizona. Wagner will begin immediately at the U.
"I'm real excited to have Robert on our staff. He's got a lot of experience from the battery to the outfield and I'm looking forward to working with him. He used to be a pitcher and has the knowledge of breaking down a batter and exploiting their weaknesses. The staff is made up as a combination of styles and I think we will compliment each other very well next season," said Stevens.
