Carly Fehler was named the Assistant Director of Olympic Sport Performance in June of 2024. She works with women’s volleyball, women’s beach volleyball, and women’s track and field. Additionally, she oversees the sport performance internship program.
Carly Fehler was previously the head strength and conditioning coach at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside for three years after serving as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for a year. Fehler spent the previous four years with the men's and women's cross country/track and field programs as a sport coach, working with the sprints, jumps, and 800 group. She was initially hired as the assistant in June of 2018 and was promoted to associate head coach in July of 2020. She worked directly with men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, cross country/track and field, golf, and volleyball.
Fehler, an Oak Creek, Wis., native, she previously worked as a graduate assistant coach at Southwest Minnesota State where she primarily worked with sprints, hurdles and jumps. She programmed all strength and conditioning for cross country/track and field during that time. Prior to SMSU, Fehler was an assistant coach at UW-Eau Claire for two years after graduating. She assisted the Blugold program with sprints/sports media and was part of their men’s team National Championship in 2016.
Fehler had an illustrious career at UW-Eau Claire, where she was a six-time NCAA Division III National Champion and a seven-time All-American. She holds five school records for the Blugolds, including the indoor 60 and 200-meter, and the outdoor 100, 200 and 4x100 relay. She led the women’s team to their highest team placement in school history at the NCAA DIII Outdoor National Championship meet as earning the National Runner-Ups in 2015. The three-time team captain and two-time MVP was awarded the 2015 Division III Athlete of the Year and was a semi-finalist in 2015 for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. In 2015, she was the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships Performer of the Meet. She is tied as the most decorated female athlete in DIII history.
Fehler graduated magna cum laude from UW-Eau Claire in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and a minor in Science of Coaching. She received her Master’s of Science in Coaching Education in 2020 from Southwest Minnesota State University, summa cum laude. She is CSCS, USATF Level 1, USTFCCCA Level 1, RPR, and USTFCCCA Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certified.
