The Tunisia, Africa native compiled a 20-3 overall record and 6-1 conference play record his freshman season en route to being named the ITA Mountain Region Rookie of the Year. As a sophomore, Hamza compiled a 22-11 record as the No. 2 singles player for Utah.
Before joining the Utah men's tennis team, Hamza ranked in the top-three of Tunisian juniors and the top-five in seniors. Competing against the world's top players, Hamza ranked as high as No. 69 in the ITF World Rankings. Hamza also represented Tunisia in the Davis Cup multiple times, competing in the world's premier international team event.
Following his time on the court as a Ute, Hamza served as a student assistant under current Utah men's tennis head coach
Roeland Brateanu, as well as a pro instructor at the Salt Lake Swimming and Tennis Club. In the fall of 2016, Hamza was named assistant coach for the UNLV men's tennis team for his next coaching stint.
As the assistant coach, Hamza played a key role in UNLV's 2017 season where the team posted a 19-9 overall record and came up just shy of the Mountain West conference title, falling in the finals of the conference championships. UNLV finished as the No. 3 team in the ITA Mountain Region rankings following the 2017 season, while two of the athletes Hamza coached ranked individually in the top-four of the region.
Hamza graduated from the University of Utah in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Following his one-year stint at UNLV, Hamza returned to Salt Lake City and has been working as a tennis instructor, as well as currently serving as the director of tennis camps for the Utes.
