No. 33 Utah Remains Undefeated at Home with a 4-1 Win Over K-State

SALT LAKE CITY— The No. 33-ranked Utah Utes are undefeated at home this season after downing the Kansas State Wildcats 4-1 Saturday afternoon.

The Utes are now 14-5 on the season, 7-2 in Big 12 action and 10-0 at home. The Utes are also on an eight-match win streak.

DOUBLES
In doubles action, the Kansas State Wildcats took a set 6-1 on the No. 3 court to start things off for the day. Utah defended with a 6-3 win from duo Emma Kamper and Emmie Moore at the No. 2 spot.

The Utes clinched the doubles point advantage when Sara Akid and Emma Valletta downed Wildcats' Maralgoo Chogsomjav and Martaa Chogsomjav 6-4.

SINGLES
In singles play, the Wildcats got off to a fast start with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 6 spot.

Utah's Emma Valletta downed K-State's Chanel Rustemova 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 5 spot to bring the overall score 2-1 in Utah's favor.

At the No. 3 spot, Utah's Emmie Moore kept Utah's momentum alive with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Kansas State's Diana Smolinska.

At the No. 1 spot, Utah's Kamper clinched the overall match for the Utes. Kamper won her first set in a tiebreak, 7-6(2) and posted a strong second set 6-1 against K-State's Martaa Chogsomjav to clinch the match for the Utes.

The rest of the matches remained unfinished.

UP NEXT
The Utes' will embark back to the Lonestar State to take on the TCU Horned Frogs (April 2) and Baylor Bears (April 4). The Utes will return home for senior weekend as Utah hosts Arizona and Arizona State.
