THIS WEEK
Utah golf heads down to Phoenix, Ariz. this weekend to wrap up regular season play in the
52nd annual Thunderbird Collegiate before turning their attention to the Big 12 Championship from April 27-29.
In their last outing at the Goodwin, the Utes struggled to find consistency through three 18-hole rounds, tying for eighth after going 5-over 845.
Junior
Sergio Jimenez had the best turnout at the Goodwin, carding a 5-under 65 on the final day of play and a 3-under total score to tie for 16
th, getting the Utes inside the top 10.
Junior
Jack Jerge recorded back-to-back even pars on days two and three and carded a 1-over final score.
Senior
Brandon Robison did his best work on day two at the Goodwin, finishing 1-under 69 but ended the tournament 4-over. Fellow senior
Davis Johnson carded his best score of the tournament on day one, another 1-under 69, for a 3-over final tally.
Last year at the Thunderbird, the Utes ended the tournament in third place as a team, with junior Gabriel Palacios earning his fifth top five finish of the 2024-25 season.
In 2026, Palacios will be one of three individuals competing for the Utes at the Thunderbird, along with Utah's starting five.
The Thunderbird Collegiate is the sixth longest running college golf tournament in the country.

"We love competing at Papago. This is our final event before we start the postseason run. We are excited to have eight of our players here because it allows us to get a real feel for how everyone is playing as the regular season ends. Hopefully we gain some momentum before the Big 12 Championships."
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
The Thunderbird will span two days with two rounds of 18 holes (36) played on Friday, April 10, and the final 18 being played on Saturday, April 11.
