Women of Utah Produce Record Number of All-Americans at Indoor Championships

The Women of Utah recorded a program-high three individual All-Americans at indoor championships.
NEW ORLEANS – The Utah track & field team posted a program-best three individual All-Americans while its DMR squad repeated as USTFCCCA First-Team All-Americans the coaches association announced.

As a program, the three All-Americans were the most at an indoor championships race for Utah – besting the 2023 season that saw Simone Plourde and Emily Venters both earn first-team honors. It also marked the first time Bri Rinn, Chelsea Amoah and Erin Vringer have garnered All-America status as an individual.

Rinn was the first to earn second-team honors on the first day of the meet. The Lincoln, Neb., product posted the eighth-fastest time (4:37.82) and placed 12th-overall in the mile, joining Amanda Mergaert as the Utah's second All-American in the mile.

Amoah not only became Utah's first sprinter at the indoor championships but also became Utah's first All-American in a sprints event after she placed 13th-overall in the 200m dash with a mark of 23.08 to earn second-team honors.

Vringer joined Plourde as Utah's only other All-American in the 3000m event after she crossed the finish-line at 8:57.27 for 11th-overall. Like Rinn and Amoah, this too was Vringer's first time competing as an individual at the championships.

Utah's DMR squad of Rinn, Emily Martin, Kyla Martin and Vringer captured first-team All-America honors once again at the championships after the quartet finished seventh-overall in the distance medley relay. Their time of 10:52.58 was the second-fastest time in program history and trail their previous school record set last year that wound up being the sixth-fastest time in NCAA history (all-conditions).
