UTAH FOOTBALL: NEED TO KNOWS
 • The Utes are 7-0 to start a season for the first time since 2010. It's the ninth time in program history Utah has opened a campaign with seven consecutive victories.  Â
• Last Saturday's game against Houston marked the 100th-straight sellout of a Utah football game at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The sellout streak started in the 2010 season-opening overtime win over Pitt, the Utes' last season in the Mountain West Conference.
• Utah has won 13 straight games dating back to the 2025 season, the longest active winning streak in the FBS. It's the longest streak for a Utah team since winning 16 straight from Dec. 20, 2007-Sept. 12, 2009. Utah has won nine straight Big 12 games.
• The win over then-No. 14 Houston last Saturday marked Utah's third victory over a ranked opponent in the last four tries. Utah's last top 15 win was at No. 14 Oklahoma State in 2024.  Â
Â
THE NUMBERS
• Quarterback Devon Dampier has been all over the field for Utah's offense through seven games. His 150 rushing yards last Saturday bring him to 1,183 for his two seasons at Utah, trailing only Travis Wilson (1,225 from 2012-15) for the most by a QB in recorded program history. Dampier is third in the Big 12 in completion percentage (.687), fourth in passing touchdowns (15) and sixth in completions per game (19.43). He ranks in the top half of the conference in passing yards per game (230.9, 5th) and passing efficiency (156.2, 6th).
• The Utes' defense has been making it tough on opposing offenses, allowing just 102 total points (14.6 ppg: 9th FBS, 2nd Big 12). Utah's passing efficiency defense ranks sixth in the FBS and second in the Big 12 (104.24), while the rushing defense is giving up just 88.3 ypg (8th FBS, 1st Big 12) after allowing 181.2 ypg in 2025 (108th FBS).
• Utah's offense ranks ninth in the FBS and second in the conference in total offense at 478.4 ypg and is currently 14th in the FBS in scoring offense and second in the conference with 37.4 ppg. Running back Wayshawn Parker has eight rushing touchdowns to go along with four receiving scores, ranking eighth in the FBS and second in the conference in total touchdowns.
• Morgan Scalley is the first Utah head coach to win his first eight games at the helm and only to start his first full season with a 7-0 record.
