AUSTIN, Texas – No. 23 Utah Volleyball sharpened their skills in preparation for the 2025 season against No. 5 Texas in an exhibition match at Gregory Gymnasium on Friday afternoon.
The Utes and Longhorns played five total sets with Texas winning the first three that were scored (25-19, 27-25, 25-19), while Utah won the fourth and fifth sets that were not scored.
All five sets were close contests that helped the Utes gauge where they are at before opening non-conference play against No. 24 Dayton as part of their Utah Classic series that runs from Aug. 29-31.
STANDOUT STATS (FIRST THREE SETS)
- Kamryn Gibadlo led the team in kills (9) and digs (6).
- Isabelle Marco moved the offense for the Utes with 13 assists on 50 total attempts.
- Defensively, Emrie Moea'i led the team in solo blocks (3) and blocking assists (4).
UP NEXT
Utah will host fans for free at the Huntsman Center on Saturday, Aug. 23 in their annual Red and White Match at 1 p.m. MT.
The Utes will then open non-conference play with the Utah Classic featuring No. 24 Dayton, Lafayette College, and Washington State from Aug. 29-31 at the Huntsman Center.
