OKLAHOMA CITY – Utah softball alum and three-time All-American Hannah Flippen has earned a spot on the USA Softball roster for the 2025 World Games, it was announced on Friday.
Flippen, who played for the Utes from 2014 – 17, has had an accomplished professional career that's included substantial time with the US squad. Most recently, she won a silver medal with USA Softball at the 2024 WBSC World Cup and, at the 2022 World Games, Flippen drilled a pair of homers to help the United States capture the gold medal.
A native of Bonita, Calif., Flippen earned a spot on the USA roster after putting together a career at Utah that saw her become the program's all-time leader in runs, hits and batting average. Flippen concluded her career as the first four-time All-Pac-12 honoree and first three-time All-American in school history. She was the first Ute named Pac-12 Softball Player of the Year in consecutive seasons and the first person in the history of the conference to win that award, along with Defensive Player of the Year honors, in the same season. She also helped the Utes reach the NCAA Tournament three-years-in-a-row, including back-to-back trips to super regionals in 2016 and 2017.
USA Softball will be competing at the World Games from August 13 – 17 and they're scheduled to begin the games by taking on Chinese Taipei, the Netherlands and China over the first three days before the playoff round beings on August 16.
