"We set a really high bar last year being seventh in diving points scored and 25
th overall as a team, and we're looking to replicate that this year," said head diving coach
Richard Marschner. "Our training and our focus for the season has been getting to and performing at this meet and I think we're primed to excel."
Previously at NCAAs
- This marks Waxman's fourth appearance in her four years and the third with qualifications all three events.
- The Leeds, England native earned All-American status on all three events at the 2024 NCAA Championships, the only Utah student-athlete to ever accomplish this feat and one of only two divers in the nation to earn accomplish it in 2024.
- Grant will compete in platform and the one-meter springboard, punching her ticket to NCAAs on multiple boards for the third time after placing fifth on platform and third on one-meter at the Zone E meet.
- In 2024, the junior placed 30th on 1m, besting her 2023 score with a mark of 254.85 and then finished 46th on 3m and 32nd on platform.
- Eaglestone will mark her first appearance on the national stage as a freshman, competing on both springboard events.
"Of course, it's a very difficult meet and the margin for error is very small, so anything can happen," said Marschner. "But we are excited and optimistic about the opportunity in front of us to continue to assert Utah as one of the diving powerhouses in the country."
Looking Ahead
Next up on the docket, Elias Petersen will represent the Utes in Federal Way, Wash. for his third appearance at the NCAA Championships on March 26 through March 29.
