SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah women's tennis team battled the Cincinnati Bearcats today at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center, where the Ute came away with a 4-1 victory.

The Utes are now 10-5 on the season and 3-2 in Big 12 action. The Utes remain undefeated at home this season with an 8-0 record.

DOUBLES
In doubles action, Utah's Emma Kamper and Emmie Moore downed Cincinnati's Gabrielle Guenther and Tara Kurepa 6-4 at the No. 2 spot. However, the Bearcats captured victories on courts No. 1 and No. 3 to secure the doubles point advantage.

SINGLES
In singles action, the Utes posted four straight singles victories to clinch the overall match.

At the No. 1 spot, Utah's Emma Kamper defeated Cincinnati's Rozalia Gruszczynska 6-1, 6-1 to secure Utah's first point of the day.

Then, Emma Valletta downed Bearcats' Tara Kurepa 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 5 spot. Emmie Moore than captured a 6-1, 7-5 victory against UC's Sakurako Watanabe on court No. 3

Sara Akid clinched the overall match for the Utes with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Cincinnati's Gabrielle Guenther.

The rest of the matches went unfinished.

UP NEXT
The Utes will hit the road to Lubbock, Texas to face the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Mar. 19 and then to Boulder, Colo. to face the Colorado Buffs on Mar. 21. The Utes will return home Mar. 26 to face the Oklahoma State Cowgirls.
