SALT LAKE CITY— The University of Utah women's tennis team swept West Virginia 4-0 at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center.Â
DOUBLES
In doubles action, Utah's Sara Akid and Emma Valletta started things off strong by winning their match 6-1 against WVU's Audrey Mountama and Julie Bousseau at the No. 1 spot.
Emma Kamper and Emmie Moore secured the doubles point with a 6-2 victory against Lucia Tognoni Laura Villanueva in the No. 2 spot.
The match on court No. 3 between Utah's Dylan Lolofie and Kamea Medora and WVU's Lyla Byers and Sosanna Malaak, was ultimately left unfinished with the Utes leading 5-1.
SINGLES
In singles action, Emma Valletta started Utah off by dominating her match in the No. 5 spot winning 6-0, 6-1 against WVU's Lucia Tognoni.Â
At the No. 1 spot, Utah's Emma Kamper downed Mountaineers' Audrey Moutama 6-0, 6-2. On the No. 3 court, Emmie Moore defeated WVU's Julie Bousseau 6-0, 6-3, to clinch the shutout victory for the Utes.Â
At the No. 2 spot Sara Akid and WVU's Laura Villanueva left the match unfinished, with Utah up 6-4, 4-4. Utah's Kaila Barksdale battled against Lyla Byers by taking the first set 6-2, but ultimately the match was left unfinished.Â
At the No. 6 spot Dylan Lolofie and WVU's Sosanna Malaak left the match unfinished with Lolofie claiming the first set 7-5.Â
The Utes are now 9-5 on the season.

The Utes will return to George S. Eccles Tennis Center to take on Cincinnati on Saturday, March 14. Utah will then travel to Lubbock to face Texas Tech (March 19).Â
