IRVINE, Calif. – The University of Utah women's tennis team recorded a road victory over UC Irvine on Saturday, notching a 4-0 sweep at the Anteater Tennis Stadium to begin the two-match road trip. With this win, the Utes will move to 6-2 overall on the season.

"It was great to finally get back out and competing," said head coach Ric Mortera. "Overall, we were pleased with how the team competed today and put themselves in positions to be successful. We will look build off of this and be ready to play a good LMU team tomorrow."

The Utes got things rolling early when the duo of Anya Lamoreaux and Lindsay Hung recorded a quick victory over Jessica Tsukiji and Jenna Schlatter at the No. 3 spot, downing the pair with a score of 6-1. The nation's No. 19-ranked doubles team of Madison Tattini and Whitney Hekking then sealed the doubles point for Utah on the No. 1 court to remain undefeated as pair. Tattini and Hekking cruised by Arianna Tilbury and Flora Amiri 6-0.

Carrying over the momentum into singles, Madeline Lamoreaux recorded the first singles win for Utah on court two as she picked up a dominant 6-0, 6-1 victory over Flora Amiri. Lindsay Hung followed with another quick win at the No. 5 spot, topping Alyssa Fossorier 6-2, 6-1. Tattini then completed the sweep and sealed the victory for the Utes on court No. 1, as she bested Stephanie Nguyen 6-4, 7-5, to give the Utes their sixth victory of the season.

The Utah women's tennis team will be back in action tomorrow afternoon, as they will wrap up their road trip with a match against Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles at 12 p.m. MT.
