SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah track and field team is back in action this weekend, April 25-27th, as they will be competing at three different meets across the country. The Utes will travel east to compete at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson, Ariz., and the Robi    son Invitational taking place just down the road in Provo. Â
Â
"We got the Drake Relays, the 110th edition of Americas athletic classic, one of the oldest meets in the entire country and it has been going on since 1910 so we are excited to get back out there and put together some relays and see if we can do some damage there," head coach
Kyle Kepler said. "We certainly have lots of different things going on this weekend but that's the world of track and field and that's what kind of makes it interesting."Â Â

Last time out
Â
The Utes had a huge weekend as they posted several new PR's and moved 6 into the top-10 all-time lists at Utah.
Sarah Feeny highlighted the weekend as she set a new school record in the 1,500-meter race. Feeny finished with a PR time of 4:13.53 to capture the new school record and beat former record holder Amanda Mergaert's time by a tenth of second. This time gives Feeny the third-best time in the country in the event.Â
Â
Kolbi Sims posted her second-highest score in her career in the heptathlon, finishing with 5,263 points. This score moves her into third all-time in Utah program history and is 74 more points than the first heptathlon she competed in earlier this season at the Aztec Invitational. Maya Lebar set a new PR in the triple jump with a distance of 11.70 meters (38'4.75") and moved herself from 10th to eighth-place all-time.Â
Â
Sarah Newton and
Brooke Manson led Utah in the 800-meter race at the Bryan Clay Invitational where they recorded new personal-bests times of 2:06.36 and 2:06.77, respectively. These times moved Newton into fifth and Manson into eighth-place all-time.
Whitney Hessler earned a new PR in the 800-meter race at the Mt. SAC Relays as she crossed with a time of 2:08.94. This time moves Hessler into 10th-place all-time and rounds out the athletes who moved into the all-time lists at Utah over the weekend. Â
Â
"We just absolutely had a weekend, kind of one for the ages and it was certainly one of our best ones in several years collectively," Kepler said. "I thought we performed at a really high level and at one point we had a national leader in the 1,500 and a new school record."Â
