Utes Set To Host First Ever Utah Diving Invitational

SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah diving team will be hosting the first ever Utah Diving Invitational this weekend, Dec. 1-2, at the Ute Natatorium. The meet on Friday is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. MT, with competition on Saturday beginning at 4:00 p.m. MT.
"We are thrilled to be hosting our first ever diving invite here at Utah," said Utah head diving coach Richard Marschner. "We are hoping to get some fans out to check us out and support us so the environment will be a fan friendly atmosphere. The format is going to allow for some exciting diving to take place and diving at night in a finals format always seems to up the level of competition. We have some great teams coming to join us and this meet gives us another opportunity to dive against some really solid competition before we have about a month break from competition."
COMPETING TEAMS
There will be four teams competing this weekend. Along with Utah, other teams competing include USC, BYU, and Air Force.
LAST TIME OUT
A few weeks back, the diving team competed in the Art Adamson Invitational at Texas A&M University.
In the second day of action, Clare Greenlow reached the final of the 1-meter, finishing eighth overall. Meanwhile, Jenner Pennock narrowly missed out on returning this evening, but finished ninth overall for the men.
On the last day of the invitational, two divers were able to turn in record-setting performances on the platform. Nicole Ford went sixth for the women (229.50, 6th all-time) and Pennock placed 10th for the men (251.60, 8th all-time).
