SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah track and field team is back in action this Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Bronco Invitational. Hosted by Boise State, Saturday's events will begin with the women's 60-meter dash at 10 a.m. MT in Boise, Idaho.
Â
"It is opening weekend of the new year for us," head coach
Kyle Kepler said. "Everybody is excited to jump on the bus and get up there on Friday for pre-meet. We are certainly anxious and have had some great workouts to prepare us. I feel really good about our kids and what they were able to accomplish over break. "
Â
Utah will send about two-thirds of the team to the meet including jumpers, sprinters and distance runners. The schedule of events for the meet can be found in PDF form attached. Live results for the Bronco Invitational are available via

Â
"We have the young jumps crew led by
Ann Wingeleth. She had a pretty good meet back in December in Boise so hopefully we can get her going again. The sprint and long sprints group led by
Grace Englund, we have her for indoors and will redshirt her outdoor to even her back up for her senior year. We will also run a bunch of distance runners. Some are running up an event or down an event but not too many of them are running their primary event," Kepler continued.
Â
"Like any first meet, we are getting our feet wet and we don't want to drum up the expectations to be too high but certainly we have a lot of kids who are doing a lot of good things and are training at a really high level," Kepler said. "We hope they can take that and turn it into some good performances this coming weekend."
