First round action suspended; Play to resume Tuesday morning

PARK CITY, Utah – The Utah men's golf team is in first-place following a weather-shortened first round at the OGIO Utah Invitational, which is being held at The Jeremy Ranch Golf and Country Club.

Due to an early fall snow shower throughout the Park City are, first round action was suspended early Monday morning and golfers were forced to halt play until later in the afternoon. Teams headed back out onto the course at 1:30 p.m., but the majority of players limited to just eight to 12 holes before play was suspended again.

Players will conclude the remainder of the first round on Tuesday and will follow with the second and final round.

Utah's "A" team leads the weather-shortened first round with a score of 1-over, three strokes ahead of Lamar (+4) and four strokes ahead of Weber State (+5) and Little Rock (+5). Utah' "B" team is in 10th place with a score of 18-over through 10-12 holes.

Sophomore Kyler Dunkle and freshman Jordan Costello lead Utah's "A" team with scores of 1-under par. Dunkle managed to get in 11 holes on Monday, while Costello sits at 1-under through 12 holes. Both players are currently tied for third-place overall.

Senior Gentry Hicks (+1), freshman Mitchell Schow (+2) and freshman Peyton Hastings (+4) round out scores for Utah's "A" team.

Sophomore Nathan Wunderli and junior Clayton Keck lead Utah's "B" team with scores of 4-over heading into the remainder of Tuesday's conclusion of the first round. Wunderli has six holes left to play in the first round, while Keck still has to finish five holes on Tuesday.
