COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Utah men's golf team is in 11th place following two rounds of play at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, which is being held at Eisenhower Golf Course in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Utah carded a seven-over par 295 to finish in eighth place following the first 18 holes of play, but after a four-over par 288 over the next 18 holes, the Utes slid three spots to 11th place.
As a team, Utah heads into Sunday's final round with a two-round score of nine-over par (295-292=587). The Utes trail current tournament leader Colorado by 22 strokes after the Buffs carded a two-round score of 11-under par (294-271=565).
Colorado State (-8, 286-282=568), Wyoming (-1, 287-288=575), Weber State (-1, 284-291=575) and UTEP (E, 290-286=576) round out the top five spots in the tournament.
Senior Brandon Kida shot a one-over par 73 in both first two rounds and currently sits in a tie for 29th place with a two-round score of two-over par 146. Kida is 10 strokes off the pace of tournament leaders, Philip Juel-Berg of Colorado and Weber State's Devon Purser, who both carded eight-under par 136's.
Senior Jose Pelayo carded a two-over par 74 in the first round and a one-over par 73 in the second round, while senior Gentry Hicks posted the same two scores. Both players are currently in a tie for 38th place with a score of three-over par 147.
Senior Brent Pollack is in a tie for 46th place with a two-round score of four-over par 148 and Steven Croft following in a tie for 51st place with a score of five-over par 149.
Senior Jonathon Thomas rounded out Utah's playing card, posting a two-round score of seven-over par 151.
Utah will close out the tournament on Sunday, with final round tee times set to begin at 7:20 a.m. MT.
