COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Utah men's golf team wrapped up play at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational Sunday, finishing the event in a tie for 13th place.
The Utes (295-191-299=886, +22) were led by senior Jose Pleayo (74-73-70=217, +1), who carded a score of two-under par in final round action to finish in a tie for 18th, while senior Brandon Kida (73-73-72=218, +2) shot even par on Sunday to finish in a tie for 22nd-place.
Senior Brent Pollock recorded a top-50 finish with a three-day score of seven-over par (75-73-75=223) and junior Gentry Hicks finished the event with a score of nine-over par (73-74-78=225) to place in a tie for 59th.
Senior Steven Croft rounded out Utah's scoring on Sunday as he carded a seven-over in final round play to finish in a tie for 69th place with a three-round score of 12-over par (75-74-79=228).
Utah's Jonathon Thomas, who shot seven-over par and even par, respectively, in the first two rounds, was disqualified during Sunday's final round.
Utah is back in action next weekend, traveling to Cle Elum, Wash., to compete in the Husky Invitational. First round action will get underway next Monday, Sept. 21, with final round coverage to be played on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
