FREEPORT, Bahamas -- Freshman guard Erika Bean set a season high with 11 points, her first career game in double-figures, but the University of Utah women's basketball team lost to Boston College on Friday in the Junkanoo Jam, 75-52.

The Utes held a 31 to 24 edge in team rebounding over the Eagles as well as a 45.7% (16-of-35) to 44.3% (27-of-61) advantage in shooting percentage.
Bean scored a season and team-high 11 points, which included a 9-for-12 night at the free throw line. The Sacramento, Calif., native also tied her season high with three rebounds.
Junior wing Paige Crozon contributed nine points, making three of her four field goal attempts and was 2-for-3 from 3-point range. The Humboldt, Saskatchewan native also had six rebounds and tied her career high with two assists.
Redshirt sophomore forward Emily Potter hauled in a game-high nine rebounds to go with seven points and a block.
Sophomore wing Tanaeya Boclair also scored seven points to go along with two assists and a rebound.
Danielle Rodriguez and Malia Nawahine scored six points apiece.
Boston College took a 21-12 lead after the first quarter of play. The Utes fought back to within three (26-23) midway through the second after a 9-2 spurt. Unfortunately, the Eagles were able to push their lead back to double-digits at halftime, 37-27.
Utah worked to cut their deficit to four points (43-39) via a 6-0 run early in the third quarter, but could get no closer for the remainder of the contest before Boston College went on to the 76-51 victory.
The Utes return home to the Jon M. Huntsman Center on Thursday to face Cal State Northridge at 7 p.m. MT. The game will be live streamed at utahutes.com and Rick Bouillon will have the play-by-play call for ESPN 700.
