U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - The University of Utah golf team wrapped up its first tournament of the season, the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, Sunday with a 10th-place finish. The Utes tallied a two-over-par 884 (293-297-294), while junior Max McGrail swung a one-over mark of 217 (76-68-73) to tie for 23rd.
Senior Brandon Kida finished tied for 38th with a score of 221 (75-77-69), while juniors Jonathon Thomas and Brent Pollock, who competed as an individual, both posted marks of 224 to tie for 50th. Gentry Hicks tallied a 225 (69-73-83) to tie for 54th, while senior Jack Maerki tied for 85th with a score of 242 (78-84-80).
The Utes return to action Sept. 22-23 at the Husky Invitational in Bremerton, Wash., at the Gold Mountain Golf Course.
