O'AHU, Hawaii - The University of Utah men's golf team completed first-round play at the John Burns Intercollegiate today at the Turtle Bay Resort. The Utes put up a mark of 311, 23 over par, to earn 15th place. Senior Jeff Kitches led the pack tied for 35th with a three-over-par score of 75.
Fellow senior Chase Hite finished second on the roster, tied for 58th, swinging a 77. At tied for 76th, senior Derek Adams posted a score of 79, while freshman Ben Bankhead tied for 81st with his mark of 80. Finishing out for the Utes was senior Mike Branca with a score of 84 to tie him for 88th.
Utah returns to the intercollegiate tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 a.m.
