O'AHU, Hawaii - The University of Utah men's golf team completed their second round at the John Burns Intercollegiate today at the Turtle Bay Resort. Currently at a score of 622 for the tournament, the Utes placed 16th and were led by senior Jeff Kitches' mark of 151 (75-76), which tied him for 49th.
Senior Derek Adams was second to finish for Utah, posting a score of 153 (79-74), tied for 59th place. The only freshman of the squad, Ben Bankhead, swung a 77, putting him at 157 (80-77) and tied for 78th place. Senior Chase Hite tied for 86th place with a mark of 161 (77-84), while fellow senior Mike Branca finished out for the Utes with his two-round score of 169 (84-85) to place him in 92nd.
The Utes return to the tournament tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 18, for the third and final round beginning at 7:30 a.m.
