COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Led by a seven-over-par score from senior Jeff Kitches, the University of Utah golf team placed 17th out of 18 teams after the first day of the Falcon Invitational with an overall score of 617 (308, 309).
Kitches and fellow senior Derek Adams had the low scores of the day at 151, seven-over-par and tied for 57th . Kitches finished the second-round with a score of 76, while Adams finished at 79.
Cody Hughes tied for 58th with a second-round score of 73 and an overall score of 156, 12-over-par. Ben Bankhead played as an individual and tied for 96th place with a first-round score of 77 and a 16-over-par score of 160. Mike Branca completed the day with an overall score of 162, 18-over-par, and a second-round score of 81. Chase Hite placed 103rd with a second-round score of 166, 22-over-par.
The top team of the day was Colorado Springs University with an overall score of 573, three-under-par, who's own Ryan Peterson placed 1st with a second-round score of 68, and a total score of 137, seven-under-par.
The third and final round of the Falcon Invitational will begin tomorrow at 8 a.m at the Eisenhower Golf Course.
