SALT LAKE CITY - The 2009-10 University of Utah swimming and diving schedule features eight different home events and several competitive dual meets and a strong Mountain West Conference slate.
"We're looking forward to the challenges that this schedule will present," Utah head coach Greg Winslow said. "We've adapted the same scheduling as the entire athletic department. We will swim against the best whenever and wherever. We're going to be challenged by competing against Arizona State of the Pac-10 and Arkansas of the SEC along with our always difficult MWC schedule. We're also excited to be competing at home eight times in front of our fans at Ute Natatorium."
The second annual Alumni Weekend kicks off the year, featuring the Alumni Meet on Sept. 26 between the Sept. 25 fall banquet and Sept. 27 send-off brunch.
The Utes begin their regular-season schedule with a freshmen-sophomore meet against BYU Oct 2 at Ute Natatorium.
The schedule continues with Utah traveling to Denver for its first road meet of the season on Oct. 24.
Utah then returns to Ute Natatorium for four consecutive home meets.

The Rebels' men's team finished 24th in last season's final College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) dual meet rankings. The following weekend, both Ute squads take on Seattle (Nov. 6), then the women's squad will compete in a triangular meet against New Mexico and Boise State (Nov. 7) to conclude the homestand.
The Utes travel to Long Beach, Calif., for the prestigious Nike Cup Nov. 19-21 before taking a break to prepare for final exams.
Utah ring in 2010 with three consecutive MWC home meets, starting against TCU Jan. 9. The following weekend, San Diego State comes to Ute Natatorium Jan. 15 followed by Colorado State on Jan. 16 in the final home meet of the season.
The season continues with four consecutive road meets, starting with a trip to Wyoming (Jan. 22) and Air Force (Jan. 23). The Cowboys received seven votes in the 2008-09 final CSCAA poll. The Utes close the month of January by visiting Arkansas of the Southeastern Conference Jan. 30. The Arkansas women's team finished 19th in the final CSCAA poll last season.
The Deseret First Duel meet at BYU Feb. 4 concludes Utah's MWC slate. The Cougar women's team won last year's MWC crown and totaled three votes in last season's final CSCAA rankings.
