Utah used a 16-7 run during the final five minutes of the game to beat San Diego State, 63-58, and win its first MWC Tournament championship since 2006.
? As the MWC Tournament champions, Utah will be the Mountain West Conference's automatic qualifier in the 2009 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
? Saturday's championship game was the second meeting between the Utes and Aztecs in MWC Tournament history. In their only other matchup, the Utes knocked the Aztecs out of the 2004 Tournament in the first round with a 68-51 victory.

? Morgan Warburton's 24 points against San Diego State marks her 30th game scoring in double figures this season and a MWC record 65 consecutive games scoring in double figures. Warburton's last game without double figures dates back to her sophomore season in 2006-07.
? The Utes, second in the nation in free throw percentage at 81.7%, went 22-of-28 from the line against San Diego State. Warburton went14-of-14 from the charity stripe, which leads Utah and ranks her 90.0% free throw percentage fourth in the nation. Her perfect shooting from the free-throw line ranks first in MWC Tournament history. After not missing a shot in the semifinals on Friday night (4-of-4), Warburton also ranks first in MWC Tournament history for best free throw percentage for an entire year's Tournament (16-of-16).
? With 21 points, Kalee Whipple of Utah has scored in double figures in 15 consecutive games and 29 on the season.
