Utah Head Coach Elaine Elliott:
"Our kids all along this season have been very resilient to being behind. We have been behind before this season and come back, so I don't think there was any kind of panic circling. We were pretty bad defensively early in the game.
"This game was tough and we weren't ourselves during the UNLV game. It was important that games like those don't force kids to question things - you return to things you know. We know how to play and defend and do things better and this game was an important comeback for us. We are prone to turnovers and it's not because we get pressed, it is just a ball handing problem and we have to win despite it sometimes. We have been struggling in some positions so we had to change things up to get performance out of kids we need to make plays."
Senior guard Morgan Warburton:
"As seniors it was frustrating to be down that much to BYU when it is possibly our last chance to play them. We had to come back together and trust each other - our offense and our defense - and know that we can come back and that is what we did."
"We started out slow and our overall intensity was low like we have been doing this season but luckily we were able to come back into the game and pull it out to win it."
Senior forward Katie King:
"We have to be leaders on the floor and I think the team knows that and looks to us. We had to refocus and come back together as a team and trust each other to win."
"After coming out of a loss you always want to come back and kill the next team you play or play tougher and come back with a win."
BYU Head Coach Jeff Judkins:
"It was a great game like I knew it would be - I think both teams enjoy this rivalry. They have a very smart team and they are very tough to beat in the last three minutes. They have had a lot of close game this year and the main reason is (Morgan) Warburton. She is a very good player and she gets her team what she needs to. They all execute well and you can't really touch them much because they are very good at getting fouls."
"I was real happy with Shawnee (Slade) and the way she played. I am proud of my kids and the way they played, we could have made a couple more baskets here and there but hopefully we will get the chance to play Utah again."
