FRESNO, Calif.- Utah finished in 12th place over the weekend at the Fresno Lexus Golf Classic. The Utes finished the tournament with a team score of 27-over-par (891). Utah put up rounds of 304-296-291 and fell from 11th to 12th on the final day.
Luke Swilor put up a team leading six-over (222) finishing tied for 25th overall. Garrett Clegg scored a seven-over (223) as did Steve Newren, leaving them in a tie for 32nd. Casey Fowles contributed an 11-over (227), good for a tie at 49th and Carl Jensen finished with a 12-over (228).
Host school Fresno State won the tournament with a six-over (870), UTEP finished second posting an eight-over (872) and Colorado State was third scoring an 11-over (875). Utah will compete next at the Countrywide Intercollegiate on Oct. 21-22.
