University of Utah alumna and Park City native Brianne Jacobson joined the athletic training staff in August 2024, serving as the primary AT contact for the Utah skiing and golf programs. She is responsible for managing coverage of both programs’ training and practice sessions, race days, treatment and injury prevention for student-athletes within the program.
No stranger to ski racing, Jacobson came to the Utes from Nevada, where she had been the athletic trainer for the Wolfpack ski team since 2022. Jacobson was part of the inaugural support staff for the Nevada ski team with the Wolfpack reinstating alpine skiing as a varsity sport.
Before heading to Nevada, she was an athletic trainer with Steward Comprehensive Orthopedics.
Previously, Jacobson has also served as an independent consultant with U.S. Ski and Snowboard and on ski patrol at the Utah Olympic Park. Her first foray into the sport came as a senior athletic training student with the Utes (2018-19), working alongside the team that won the 2019 NCAA Championship.
She also was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Detroit Mercy for two years, providing care for student-athletes on the Titans women’s lacrosse and both men’s and women’s golf teams.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the U in 2019, following that with a Master’s in heath service administration from Detroit Mercy (2021).
