SALT LAKE CITY – Head alpine coach
JJ Johnson on Friday announced the signing of Annika Hunt with the Utah Ski Team. Hunt will join the Utes beginning in the 2027 collegiate season while also being part of the U.S. Ski Team.
Hunt, who is returning from an injury-shortened 2026 racing season, previously skied for Burke Mountain Academy.
The native of Park City, Utah, was the women's overall Nor-Am Cup winner in 2025 as well as the downhill and super G champion. It helped Hunt qualify for the U.S. Ski Team and earned Hunt her first World Cup starts early in the '26 campaign.
She racked up nine Nor-Am podiums in 2025, with one race victory apiece in super G and downhill. She also raced at the FIS Junior World Championships in Italy, where Hunt placed 11
th in the downhill. In 2024, she competed at the Youth Olympic Winter Games, which included a top-13 giant slalom result.
She made her first FIS start in 2022. Her first foray into racing came with the Park City Farm Team, before moving on to the Park City Ski Team and eventually Burke Mountain Academy.
She comes from a ski racing family, as Hunt's mother, Anne-Kari, was a Nordic skier and All-American at Utah. Her father, Jesse, was an All-American alpine skier at Vermont. And both of her siblings, Mia and Espen, have skied collegiately. Mia Hunt skied at Denver and Espen Hunt is currently a member of the Colby College ski team.
