Three Utes Selected in NLL Draft

All three players selected within the first three rounds
SALT LAKE CITY – Three University of Utah lacrosse players were selected in the 2026 National Lacrosse League Draft last week.

Ryan Stines, selected with the 25th pick by the Colorado Mammoth, was the first of the three Utes off the board. In the third round, Joel Mullen was selected by the Vancouver Warriors, while Connor Gorman was taken by the Halifax Thunderbirds.

With three more players advancing to the professional level, head coach Andrew McMinn has now mentored more than 30 players who have gone on to play lacrosse at the next level, including 28 during his tenure as head coach.

Stines joins the Mammoth after spending his first season in the PLL with the Utah Archers, where he recorded 30 points during the regular season. His total set a new rookie-season record for the Archers, and he was named a finalist for Rookie of the Year. During his time at The U, Stines set the program record with 230 career points and ranks second in school history with 141 goals and 89 assists.

Mullen will head to Vancouver after spending his senior season in Salt Lake City. Appearing in all 14 games, Mullen recorded two goals and four assists while causing seven turnovers and collecting 17 ground balls.

Gorman joins the Halifax Thunderbirds after spending three seasons at Monmouth University.
