Zach Chandler Hired as Utah Lacrosse Assistant Coach/Offensive Coordinator

Chandler returns to the Utes after spending a season coaching at Holy Cross
SALT LAKE CITY – Zach Chandler is set to return to Utah, this time as an assistant coach/offensive coordinator after spending a season at Holy Cross as an assistant coach.
The midfielder from Salisbury, Conn. spent the 2023 season with the Utes as a graduate transfer while earning a master's degree in real estate development. Before coming to Salt Lake City the first time, Chandler earned his undergraduate degree in government and legal studies from Bowdoin. While playing lacrosse for the Polar Bears, Chandler was a two-year captain, earning USILA All-American and All-New England honors as a senior.
"We're thrilled to welcome back one of our own, Zach Chandler, as the newest member of our coaching staff," Utah Lacrosse head coach Andrew McMinn said. "Zach understands what this program is all about because he lived it as a student-athlete. Over the past three years, he's established himself as one of the bright young coaches in the game, and we're excited to bring that experience back home!"
Chandler began his coaching career at Springfield College (NCAA-DIII) where he served as a graduate assistant coach, helping to build practice plans while coordinating the team's defensive schemes and scouting, and directing recruiting.
During the 2024-25 season, the Pistol Shrimp earned the NEWMAC Regular Season Title, and the staff earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Additionally, Chandler's coaching journey includes a two-year tenure as program coach/offensive coordinator at 3D New England, where he coached and mentored the 2026 "Red' Team, producing 15 NCAA Division I commits.
In his single season at Holy Cross, the Crusaders finished 6-8 while 38 athletes from the team were placed on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
