TUCSON, Ariz. – The Utah track & field team closed out the second day at Big 12 Outdoor Championships on Friday at Drachman Stadium.

María Alvarado was the first to take the track for Utah in the 100m hurdles but a fall from a sprinter nearby caused her to fall by the second hurdle. After review by the officials, Alvarado was awarded another opportunity to run it again and posted a mark of 14.14.
In the 800m run,
Madi Hulsey posted a run of 2:10.10 but wasn't enough to advance her to the finals.

Haley Duvall and
Rachel Bair ran in different sections of the 100m prelims posting times of 11.90 and 12.08, respectively, but didn't advance to the finals. Over in the horizontal jumps, Bair posted a top mark of 5.51 in her third and final attempt.

Mackenzie Rogers became Utah's second scorer of the weekend when she finished fourth-overall in the 3000m steeplechase. The senior ran with the lead pack before finishing in 10:08.90 – which was just off of her personal best. Teammate
Sona Kourilova just missed the podium after finishing in 10:29.35 for ninth-overall.

HEPTATHLON
Glo Hussey closed out the heptathlon with a new personal best score of 5206 points on Friday after the completion of the final three events. She first posted a leap of 5.80m (19-3-5) in the long jump before just missing out on a new personal best in the javelin with a toss of 30.05m (98-7). Hussey would go on to PR in the 800 with a run of 2:24.66 to complete the heptathlon and finish 14th-overall.
