Emily Martin and former Utah track & field alumni Josefine Aks will represent their respective countries in Gaborone, Botswana, this weekend (May 2-3) at the 2026 World Relays.

Fans can watch the World Relays in the United States live from Botswana National Stadium via
Peacock. Live coverage of the event is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. (MDT) on both days.

UTAH PARTICIPANTS: Emily Martin (CAN) – 4x100m | Josefine Aks (NOR) – 4x400m

Martin, who is redshirting this outdoor season, will represent Canada once again as part of the 4x100m relay pool while Aks will represent Norway in the 4x400m relay. This is the third World Relays team for Aks while this is the first for Martin – who was part of the Canadian 4x100m relay pool last September at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Opening round races are set to begin on Saturday, May 2, with Martin and Team Canada lining up first starting at 7:05 a.m. (MDT) / 3:05 p.m. (GMT +2). Aks and the Norwegians will then take the track at 7:55 a.m. (MDT) / 15:55 p.m. (GMT +2).

Should the Norwegians not finish in the top two, they'll race in the repechage race on Sunday, May 3, at 6:44 a.m. (MDT). The Canadians would follow at 7:30 a.m. (MDT) should they not make the finals.

If either team advances to the finals on Sunday, Martin and Team Canada will take the track first at 8:24 a.m. while the 4x400m finals should Aks and the Norwegians advance start at 8:40 a.m. (MDT).

This year's World Relays serves as a qualifier for the
World Athletics Ultimate Championships in Budapest this September as well as next year's
World Athletics Championships in Beijing. The top six teams from each of the mixed races also earn a spot at this year's WA Ultimate Championships.

The top two teams in each race on day one will not only advance to the finals but also earn an automatic qualifying spot to the World Athletics Championships in Beijing next year.

In addition to competing for prize money, those that advanced to the finals will also compete for preferential World Championships lane seeding positions while the top two teams in the two heats from the repechage races will also qualify for the championships in Beijing.
