SCOUTING THE BEARS
Baylor is coming off a 23-11 overall record in the 2025 season. Baylor went 6-2 in conference matches last season. The Bears see a returner in senior Zsombor Velcz, who had an overall singles record of 24-13. Velcz was 21-11 in doubles play last season. Baylor is currently 16-7 in its official 2026 season.

SCOUTING THE HORNEDFROGS
TCU is coming off a 27-4 overall record in the 2025 season. TCU went 8-0 in conference matches last season. The Hornedfrogs see a returner in junior Julian Alonso, who had an overall singles record of 18-10. Alonso was 9-7 in doubles play last season. TCU is currently 15-5 in its official 2026 season.
THE UTES
The Utah men's tennis program returns seniors Max Relic and Dante Teramo. The Utes also welcome back junior Emmett Potter. Utah has one sophomore returning to the squad in Charles Frey. The Utes welcome five newcomers with two transfers in Lorenzo Esquici and Simeon Terziev and three new true freshmen in AJ Deem, Oliver Mesicek, and Balthazar Huss.
NEWCOMER MAKING WAVES
The new sophomore transfer Simeon Terziev is making waves in his first season as a Ute. Terziev has a 7-2 overall singles record. Simeon is undefeated when playing in the No. 5 spot. Terzive holds a 4-1 record when at the No. 3 spot and a 2-1 record when at the No. 4 spot.
LAST TIME OUT
The Utah men's tennis team defeated a #66 ranked Texas Tech 4-2 tennis team. Utah started off the match strong by clinching the doubles points. Utah won in the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 6 spots to clinch the victory against the Red Raiders. This was the Utes first ranked win of the season.
HEAD COACH ROELAND BRATEANU
The Utah men's tennis team welcomed back Roeland Brateanu for his twelfth season as head coach. Brateanu coached the team to a historic 2022-2023 season, earning their first Pac-12 Regular Season Title. Prior to that season, Brateanu led the team to an 18-0 record in the 2021 season and finished ranked in No. 50 in the Oracle/ITA finale ranking. Brateanu currently holds an overall record of 188-119 at Utah.
NEXT UP
The Utah tennis team will return home to George S. Eccles Tennis Center to play the University of Idaho on Friday, April 10th. Utah will then take on a Big 12 rival in BYU on Saturday, April 11th.
