Utah's Season Ends with 4-1 Loss to Baylor in Big 12 Tournament

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Utah men's tennis team's season came to an end Thursday morning as the Utes fell to No. 11 Baylor 4-1 in the Big 12 Tournament.
DOUBLES
The doubles point advantage came down to the wire. Baylor started things off claiming a win at the No. 3 spot.
Both courts one and two were locked in tiebreaks. On court two, Utah duo Emmett Potter and Simeon Terziev were battling Luc Koenig and Connor Henry Van Schalwyk but fell with a 7-6 (4) score to claim the doubles point.
On court No. 1, Dante Teramo and Balthazar Huss were down 2-5 in their tiebreak set against Ioan Alexandru Chirita and Zosmbor Velcz before it went unfinished.
SINGLES
In singles action, Utah started off strong claiming the win at the No. 5 spot. Huss took down Baylor's Chirita 6-1, 6-2.
Baylor then went on to claim wins at the No. 3 and No. 1 courts to push the overall match score to 3-1.
The Bears clinched the match at the No. 4 spot. Lorenzo Esquici dropped his first set 4-6 and won his second 6-4 to force a third set with Koenig. In the third set Esquici fought but ultimately fell 2-6 giving the overall match victory to Baylor 4-1.
At the No. 6 spot, Charles Frey was locked in a second set tiebreak after dropping his first set 6-4. Frey was up 4-2 in the tiebreak before the match went unfinished.
Potter was in his third set at the No. 2 spot after dropping the first set 3-6. He won the second set in a tiebreak 7-6 (4) and was up in his third set 2-1 before it went unfinished.
