SALT LAKE CITY — Red Rocks duo
Avery Neff and
Sage Curtis were tagged for Big 12 Weekly Awards after leading the charge for Utah Gymnastics'
second-straight regular season conference title on Sunday against No. 21 Denver.
Neff has now racked up six Big 12 Gymnast of the Week awards during the 2026 season, while freshman Curtis has earned her first Big 12 Newcomer of the Week recognition. Utah is now up to 11 recognitions this year.
Neff has been on fire since the Utes hosted Arizona State on Jan. 30, earning her fifth-straight all-around victory against the Pioneers last weekend with a 39.650 for all four events.
Additionally, the Utah sophomore added the bars and beam titles to her resume, going 9.95 on both events- the latter of which tied her career-high. With her three recent event wins, the Red Rocks star is up to 27 career wins- 19 of which have come this season alone.
Neff sits fourth nationally in the all-around (first in the Big 12), tied seventh on vault (first in the Big 12), tied ninth on bars (second in the Big 12), 12
th on beam (first in the Big 12) and fifth in the Big 12 on floor.
Curtis, for her part, delivered a punch as the anchor on floor, earning a career-high 9.925 after competing on floor five times for the Red Rocks in 2026. Before her performance in the Mile High City, Curtis earned back-to-back 9.90s (her previous career-high) against BYU and Southern Utah.
The Utah local's efforts gave the Red Rocks their third highest team floor score of the season (49.450) and contributed to the Red Rocks' 197.200 – 196.100 final score over Denver.
