SCOUTING THE SUNDEVILS
ASU is coming off a 12-12 overall record in the 2025 season. ASU went 3-5 in conference matches last season. The Sundevils see a returner in senior Roi Ginat, who had an overall singles record of 10-5. Ginat was 3-4 in doubles play last season. ASU is currently 13-7 in its official 2026 season.
THE UTES
The Utah men's tennis program returns seniors Max Relic and Dante Teramo. The Utes also welcome back junior Emmett Potter. Utah has one sophomore returning to the squad in Charles Frey. The Utes welcome five newcomers with two transfers in Lorenzo Esquici and Simeon Terziev and three new true freshmen in AJ Deem, Oliver Mesicek, and Balthazar Huss.
NEWCOMER MAKING WAVES
The new sophomore transfer Simeon Terziev is making waves in his first season as a Ute. Terziev has a 7-2 overall singles record. Simeon is undefeated when playing in the No. 5 spot. Terzive holds a 4-1 record when at the No. 3 spot and a 2-1 record when at the No. 4 spot.
LAST TIME OUT
The Utah men's tennis team fell 4-0, to a #12 ranked UCF Knights team. The Knights clinched doubles points. UCF clinched the remainder of the singles matchups to secure the win for the Knights.
HEAD COACH ROELAND BRATEANU
The Utah men's tennis team welcomed back Roeland Brateanu for his twelfth season as head coach. Brateanu coached the team to a historic 2022-2023 season, earning their first Pac-12 Regular Season Title. Prior to that season, Brateanu led the team to an 18-0 record in the 2021 season and finished ranked in No. 50 in the Oracle/ITA finale ranking. Brateanu currently holds an overall record of 187-118 at Utah.
NEXT UP
The Utes will return to George S. Eccles Tennis Center to take on #66 Texas Tech on Sunday, March 29. Utah will then travel to Waco where they will take on #8 ranked Baylor on April 2nd.
